THE PROCESS BEHIND SHIPPING FROM SINGAPORE TO USA

When moving items from Singapore to USA, there are multiple routes and options one can take.

Here is an example of one of the methods we use at ALS:
After you have engaged us, we will arrange to send your items via sea freight. We will work out the most economical route to send your items to USA’s port directly from a port near you in Singapore.

STEP 1

ALS will send you the following:

  • packing materials,
  • boxes,
  • international custom clearance forms to be filled up and
  • shipping labels to ship the items to the nearby warehouse.

STEP 2

After packing your belongings, a hired truck will pick up the boxes and bring them to a warehouse for consolidation

STEP 3

The goods are consolidated, packed into a container and loaded onto the ship that will make its way to the States.

STEP 4

A few days prior to reaching the port, the ship’s captain will submit a report to the US government on the type of vessel, crew and cargo it is carrying.

STEP 5

After receiving clearance to enter Singapore’s port, the container will be unloaded via large cranes.

STEP 6

At this point, custom officials will inspect selected containers to ensure the contents adhere to the information on the submitted documents.

STEP 7

Once clearance has been given, the container will be loaded onto a truck and transported to an import distribution centre. The container will then be opened and the cargo will be separated and delivered to their respective locations around the island.

STEP 8

Afterwards, you will receive your items at your door step via a local trucking service.
